Highly doped ZnO nanorod arrays (NRAs) were prepared by a facile one-step solvothermal method for the first time, in which the solution for the doping consisted of zinc acetate, oleylamine and 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GOPS). The influences of different reaction parameters on the structures and morphologies of the synthesized NRAs were investigated systematically. The results showed that the as-prepared NRAs possessed a diameter of ∼8 μm, a length of ∼250 μm, a doping concentration of ∼2.4%, and a high porosity of up to ∼70%. In addition, the presence of O, N, and Si was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) analyses, respectively. The obtained NRAs possessed a uniform pore structure and a large surface area of ∼1.53 m2 g-1. The NRAs showed a good catalytic performance in the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) with an ultrahigh removal efficiency.
